FREE Fall Harvest Circle Gift Tags & SVG Template (Freebies Inside!)

FREE Fall Harvest Circle Gift Tags & SVG Template (Freebies Inside!)

Hey Howdy Hey! This week’s FREEBIE is a gift tag template (actually, TWO!), and just like the title says, you can use these tags for whatever you want. There are a two versions of the file including a very Fall-ish one full of pumpkins, gourds, and mums and a blank one that you can decorate on your own. The best part is that you can print it out and use them today – like right now!

Get the File

First things first, let’s get those files downloaded! If printed at 100%, the tags are just a hair under 2 inches round. There are two versions available for free download:

PDF – This file has two pages. The first has completed tags, you just need to print them and cut them (by hand or with a cutting machine) and the second page has blank tags that you can either print on decorated paper or decorate yourself after printing.
SVG – This file can be used in a cutting machine (like a Cricut or Glowforge) so you can speed up your print or even cut through different materials!

Make the Tags

  1. Print PDF – see my tips below on which paper I recommend & how to get the best print from Adobe Reader (which is available for a free download here).
  2. Cut them out by hand or with the SVG file & a cutting machine.
  3. Make a hole & insert your attacher which could be…
    1. String, Thread, Embroidery Floss
    2. Baker’s Twine (I LOVE this stuff! – you can get it here)
    3. Ribbon
    4. Yarn
    5. Craft/Floral wire
    6. Twist ties from your junk drawer (me too friend, me too!)

The hole doesn’t have to be a particular size or very fancy, it just needs to be big enough to fit the material you’re using.

  1. Attach it to your gift and be gosh darn proud that you made that for free!

What Kind of Paper Should I Use?

Really, any paper will work, but I’d recommend a nice cardstock. It doesn’t have to be super strong or fancy, but something a little thicker will hold up better than standard printer paper. If you have concerns about whether a paper will work with your printer, many paper companies will list “compatible with” or “works with” Inkjet, Laser or Inkjet & Laser. All three of these will work with Laser or Inkjet Printers, but check my note about the Shimmer/Metallic paper.

Plain White Cardstock
Really, you can’t go wrong with Astrobrights – they have some super fun, very vibrant colors! I’ve been using them for years, at work and at home.

Brown Kraft Cardstock
I’m a sucker for anything Kraft Paper! The only thing to look out for with Kraft Paper Cardstock is to make sure it’s a smooth finish. If it’s porous (like actual kraft paper), the ink will bleed and spread out and you’ll lose fine details and end up with a blurry print.

Pearl White Shimmer/Metallic Cardstock
A note about Shimmer/Metallic Cardstocks and Inkjet printers… depending on the ink / paper combo, it’s possible that the print will always smudge, like... always. Some do dry completely, they just need some time (that could mean a few minutes but a day is not unheard of!). If anyone’s going to handle the print or if you want to use it year after year, I’d recommend using a laser printer or getting them printed somewhere (library, copy/print store, shipping store, office supply store, etc.).

Printing Tips

In order to get the best print, I'd recommend using the "Fit" feature in Adobe Acrobat Reader (free to download here). See the photo below for an example.
